(2)    A speculative technological discovery or invention specifically referred to in a past science fiction writing that has since become true.

Science Faction on Urban Dictionary

We define “Science Faction” as:

(A)   An unholy hybrid of science fiction and science fact resulting in total chaos that could one day wipe humanity from the face of this puny planet.

(B)   A podcast by two guys who like to talk about science and sci-fi but have no scientific credentials whatsoever… and may one day lead to (A).

Really, the name says it all. Science and sci-fi are inextricably intertwined in such a way that talking about one inevitably leads to the other. On the Science Faction Podcast we go beyond the headlines and put recent scientific discoveries in context. We then let loose and talk about any far flung applications the discovery may one day yield. We also talk about whatever cool sci-fi stuff we feel like, news about Episode VII, new movies/TV/books, our favorite episode of Star Trek, you know, that kind of stuff.

While we are sort of smart guys, we don’t know everything. We don’t just welcome feedback, we need it! If you want to correct us on something we got horribly wrong, want us to talk about something in particular or just want to say “hi” (or “you suck” I guess, but why would you do that?) then shoot us an email or tweet.

“And now that I’ve found all the answers, I realize that what I was living for were the questions!” – Professor Farnsworth, Futurama, Reincarnation, Season 8, Episode 13

UPDATE: Benjamin Daniel Lawless, occasional guest host has now joined as a more permanent host as Devon figures out how to be a father to TWO children. More on this as it develops…
